I’m Femke, a Dutch Artist. Growing up with a dad who was a creative teacher to blind children, there was no way I would end up in an office for the rest of my life ;-)
As a little girl he took me often with him while teaching and I was always amazed by the passion and joy these children had while creating.
They were fearless, never felt that their ability not being able to see, was something that could hold them back or even be in the way of their creativity. The immense joy they felt while creating and the proudness afterwords was touching, but most of all greatly inspiring.
Some challenges in my life lead me away from my creativity for quite a while, but I am so grateful I connected again with that important part of me. I create mostly abstract art, colorful and bold. But am still exploring the neverending and excited possibilities art has to offer. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I miserably fail. But then again, is that really failing, or did it just turned out to be different than I had in mind ?;-)
